This installation/performance , is part of the “Unity” project, it intends to integrate real people on a canvas, giving it “life” in the real sense of the word, a painting that comes to life!
It has been presented at the Biennale in Florence 13th edition from 23rd till 31st October 2021 and has received a bronze LORENZO IL MAGNIFICO AWARD for installation and a silver LORENZO IL MAGNIFICO AWARD for performance.
The theme of the Biennale was “Eternal Feminine”.
The title “ Betulle, female solidarity” has a deep meaning, based on the strength that solidarity amongst women can inspire, a necessary constructive attitude that Claudia believes women should have with each other, giving space to collaboration for a greater shared good.
The art work is composed of a painted canvas 210cm by 365cm, where four women are lying holding hands and camouflaged in the background of the painted canvas. As they come out of their position their bodies will be leaving white traces. The painted clothing will be totally integrated with the background painting of the “ Birches”and will be part of the installation. Lastly everything is supported visually on screen with a trailer filmed by a professional studio “Fiumi Studios” and drone filming by “Deniz Barener”.
The performers encourage a dialogue with the spectators, who are invited to take part in the painting if desired.
This final piece of art will unite, artist, performers, film maker and spectators, all one in the creative process, in an all round “unity“art experience.
