La voce della violenza

Concept

An immersive installation that materializes absence, memory, and witness.

The “Voice of Violence” transforms dark garments into symbolic flesh, contrasted by the red tape outlining their bodies: recycled women’s clothing, laid out like lifeless forms, composes a silent map of femicide.

Above the garments, stones marked with red acrylic imprints evoke an ancient and brutal injustice, as if open wounds in our collective memory.

Words as food for thought

At the center, a shifting lexical tapestry is formed by key words, drawn from real voices and gathered from women who responded to the question: “What do you think about violence against women, in one sentence?”

These words, both powerful and vulnerable, leave a lasting mark, becoming a manifesto of hope, resistance, and transformation — a sound-woven carpet always present.

Sound – The voice that remains

The soundscape of the installation is shaped like a fractured, collective breath. It is composed of overlapping whispers, restrained weeping, and isolated words, recorded from voices.

In a continuously random order, phrases collected during the interviews are repeated, amplified through an intimate sonic texture.

When the audience interacts with the garment, the testimony of the victim is heard (read by someone external to the context in order to preserve anonymity).

A sustainable installation

  • Period: from November 22 to 25, 2025
  • Setup: recycled clothes and shoes will be used. At the end of the exhibition, the intention is to wash and donate the clothes or, if they are not in good condition, to recycle the textiles.

Why support the project?

This initiative offers a concrete opportunity to give voice to a pressing social issue through art, using recycled materials and a sustainable approach. Every contribution helps transform painful testimonies into a collective narrative of hope, resistance, and transformation.
Above all, it represents a tangible and meaningful action of support.
