Art & Science

The project

The Art & Science Project
In common thinking, there is often a tendency to believe that one either has a scientific mind or an artistic soul.

This cliché, however, is disproved by history through figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Descartes, Goethe, and many others who teach us that these two disciplines are not distant at all.

The Art & Science project aims to highlight these two worlds in an artistic experiment that merges fascinating microscope research images from the laboratory with the surreal visuals that inspire the artist.

The Art & Science project is a joint initiative by painter Claudia Cantoni and biologist Ester Piovesana, combining the realms of science and art to create works that revolve around four main themes.

The exhibition is supported by BancaStato Ticino, IBSA Foundation, EOC, USI, and the Brain Week of Italian-speaking Switzerland.
