About unity and its creative methodology

“Unity” is a project aiming at uniting a number of artistic visual expressions such as, painting, photography, video, performance and architecture. Claudia sees in this the possibility of a dialogue. Most of the artistic works have been developed during the lockdown and the pandemic year, and in this project Claudia explores her personal tendency to find collaboration and unity in a time of forced solitude.

Methodology

• The methodology varies from painting to painting.
• The starting point is always photographs taken by friends or strangers found on Instagram.
• The selected photos are strategically printed onto parts of the canvas or plexiglass.
• Photographs are then carefully integrated with paint within their new context.
• The painting process always takes place around the borders of the photograph, never covering it, allowing it to define its new existential environment.
• Each stage of the painting’s development is intentionally photographed in sequence, creating a visual record of the creative process.
• This “creative visual record” becomes the final “Unity” with spectators, revealing the artist’s vision and guiding viewers through an experimental visual experience that encourages personal interpretation and development.
